Many villages in Nigeria still use open faced wells. These wells are often dug very shallow and are not covered well, which increases risk of diseases like Typhoid due to the impurity of the water.
OUR VISION:
Our current goal is to provide a well for the camp where the orphans live. The current well is not very deep, so the children are at risk of health issues. Our plan is to build a well which would provide clean water for drinking, washing, and cooking. One well can provide clean water for 50 people each day, and will last for approximately 10 years.
NEEDS:
$1,875 (€1, 703) to dig and place the well.
